Ella Britton
Ella is passionate about getting people involved in initiatives that create positive social change. For Spots of Time Ella is creative & project lead on our project with Catch 22 to create opportunities for young people who have taken part in their National Citizen Service programme to keep involved in their local communities.
Previously Ella worked with thinkpublic and was involved in co-creating the new National Dementia Advisory Service for the Alzheimer’s Society using her engagement skills to enable people with dementia to participate in the design and service development process. More recently she has used these skills to gain a deep understanding of people’s experience of using public services as part of the Total Place initiative that aims to streamline the public sector. Ella also co-founded a creative venture called the Strive For Happiness which uses simple acts of creativity and kindness to engage people in conversations about wellbeing and resilience.
With a background in visual communication, she completed a Masters in Design in 2007 at Edinburgh College of Art where she also worked as a course tutor. During this time she led a project with BBC Scotland helping staff to co-create and deliver a large communication design programme during BBC Scotland's move to a new head quarters. Since then Ella has worked as a change strategy consultant supporting public sector organisations undergoing large environmental and culture change programmes.
